Prof. Faltin had a vision of radical simplicity – save costs for packaging, transportation, storage and even marketing to make exclusive tea affordable.
In 1985 Prof. Günter Faltin founded Projektwerkstatt GmbH as an independent company. Back when he was a student of economics he discovered that entrepreneurship is the key to making economics not only exciting, but also consequential and sustainable. Then, while becoming a professor of economics, he thought about creating his own enterprise to have not only a practical approach for his principles but also a model to work and learn with for his students. Noticing that tea was sold at shockingly high prices, he looked for ways to challenge the traditional tea market. He created a new business model based on the principle of simplicity, which allows us to sell the world’s best Darjeeling tea at uncommonly low prices.
In 2001 Prof. Faltin and Prof. Winterhager established a foundation for entrepreneurship with the aim to invite people to become entrepreneurs themselves.
